Bold, vivid colors characterize Anne
Enochs' pastel and oil paintings. She displays a masterful command of color,
composition, and intuitive perception in her paintings. She loves to paint
the quality of light, whether the subject matter be figurative or landscape
or still life. Her travels, particularly to the Southwest U. S. and to Europe,
have greatly influenced her work. Her subtly powerful paintings provide
a continuous source of beauty and pleasure to their owners and viewers.
From early childhood, Anne dreamed of and focused on becoming an artist.
A native Mississippian, Anne studied privately with several local artists
before attending the University of Alabama where she received a B. A. degree
in art. She has continued her art study since graduation by attending art
workshops throughout the country and also by coordinating fine art workshops
for six years. Anne's paintings have won awards in national juried shows
and she has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally.
A founding member of the Professional Artists League of Mississippi, Anne is also a
member of the Degas Pastel Society.
While working as a fulltime professional
artist, she also teaches classes in drawing, and painting and holds workshops.
Anne has a two hour instructional video out called "Pastel Basics with Anne
Enochs."
